Mumbai: A 61-year-old accountant at a private company fell victim to a cyber fraud, losing approximately Rs 30 lakh after receiving WhatsApp messages from someone posing as the company’s director where she is employed. The fraudster requested money transfers to specific bank accounts through messages. The incident occurred in Bandra West, leading the Western Cyber Cell to file a case under the Information Technology Act and Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita on April 17.
