Man killed, son injured in Bhadrak accident | Bhubaneswar News

Balasore: A 55-year-old man died on spot when a speeding truck ran over him near the new bus stand on National Highway-16 in Bhadrak town on Tuesday night while his son sustained critical injuries in the incident.
The deceased, Dhaneshwar Behera from Ahias village in Jajpur district, was travelling with his son Chanda Sekhar Behera (32) on a motorcycle when the accident occurred. They were returning home after purchasing a drilling machine from Charampa in Bhadrak.
Sources said the accident happened when their motorcycle, travelling on the wrong side of the road, hit a divider near the bus stand. The impact threw Dhaneshwar on the road, where he was run over by an oncoming truck.
Locals took Chanda Sekhar to the Bhadrak district headquarters hospital and was then transferred to SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack as his condition worsened. Bhadrak Town Police launched an investigation and sent the deceased’s body for post mortem. A search is underway to locate the truck involved in the accident.
