Man killed by friend at Kolathur during argument | Chennai News – Times of India

Chennai: A 31-year-old man was stabbed to death by his friend at Kolathur on Saturday, over an argument last week where the victim spoke ill of the accused’s wife, said police.The deceased was identified as K Hameed Basha, a cab driver and a resident of Rani Anna Nagar near K K Nagar. Hameed used to frequent the tea stall of his friend, Sheik Abdullah, on 200ft Road, Kolathur.Last week, when an argument broke out between Hameed and Abdullah, Hameed badmouthed Abdullah’s wife. The two got into an argument over this but locals interevened and pacified them.On Saturday, Hameed visited Abdullah’s tea stall again. Abdullah questioned him for badmouthing his wife. Soon, the argument escalated into a fight. Abdullah grabbed a knife, stabbed Basha, and fled the scene.Onlookers took Hameed to the Govt Stanley Hospital, where he was declared brought dead. The Rajamangalam police registered a case of murder and arrested Abdullah. He was produced before a magistrate and remanded in judicial custody.
