Man held for Killing neighbour in Dhenkanal | Bhubaneswar News

Bhubaneswar: A 38-year-old man was arrested on Saturday for allegedly murdering his neighbour over suspicions of an affair with his wife at Bhalumunda village under Mahabirod police station in Dhenkanal district.
The victim, identified as Lulu Dehury, an industrial worker, was found dead with deep head injuries in a forest along Mahabir-Chandpur road on Thursday morning. Sources said Lulu had attended the Dola Melana festival on Wednesday night but did not return home. The next morning, villagers discovered his body and alerted the police.
Initially, the police had no leads, but Jugal, whose house is adjacent to the victim’s, became a suspect. Upon interrogation, he confessed to the crime. Police revealed that Jugal and Lulu had previously worked together in Tamil Nadu eight years ago. Recently, Jugal grew suspicious of his wife’s alleged relationship with Lulu.
On Wednesday evening, while the Dola Melana festival was underway in the village, Jugal lured Lulu to the forest and attacked him with an axe, police said. The murder weapon was later seized.
Kamakhyanagar (SDPO Gyana Ranjan Mishra told TOI, “As of now, no other suspects are involved, but further investigation is ongoing.”
