Berhampur: District and sessions judge, Berhampur, on Monday sentenced a 28-year-old man to life imprisonment for killing a senior citizen at Gandhi Nagar area here around two years ago.
“Judge Rupashree Choudhury awarded life imprisonment to Harihar Sahu, a resident of Nimakhandi, after recording the statements of 17 witnesses, including police and medical reports,” said Trilochan Parida, public prosecutor. The convict was in jail since his arrest for the murder, he added.
The convict had slit the neck of Rank Sethi (67) on Dec 22, 2023 when he was out for his morning walk. Police recovered the body and Sahu was arrested from Chhatrapur, sources said.TNN
