Man found dead in locked house in Patna | Patna News – Times of India
Patna: Decomposed body of a 33-year-old man was found inside his locked house near Devi Sthan under the Buddha Colony police station area in Patna on Saturday. The deceased was identified as Ravi Kumar, son of one Ramayan Prasad and a resident of Dujra.
Krishna Murari Prasad, DSP (law and order), Kotwali, said the body was found after locals and tenants complained about a foul odour emanating from the house.“The police were alerted and we contacted the house owner. When he was unreachable, we called his father, who arrived with a spare key. Upon unlocking the main door and the door to the room, we found Ravi’s decomposed body lying on his bed,” he added.
According to the police, the body was covered with paint. The locals and tenants said the house had been undergoing painting for the past 10 days, but the main door had been locked for the last 2-3 days.
The DSP said, “Ravi lived on the first floor while renting out the ground and second floors. For the painting job, he had removed all the CCTV cameras and items were scattered throughout the house. It appears that Ravi was smothered while asleep. After the crime, the perpetrator locked him in his room and the main gate, then poured blue paint over him to conceal the murder. The paint made it difficult to detect any injuries.”
