Hyderabad: A 30-year-old man took his own life in Bichkunda, Kamareddy district on Saturday, a day after his pregnant wife died in a road accident.On Friday, Sunil and his wife Jyothi, who was five months pregnant, were travelling on a bike on the outskirts of Bichkunda. She accidentally slipped off the bike and fell onto the road, sustaining a head injury.Locals immediately called an ambulance, but she died en route to hospital.After the post-mortem examination, when her body was brought home, Sunil became inconsolable. He went to the bathroom and emerged some time later. He then started to vomit continuously.Realising that something was wrong, his family rushed him to hospital, where he died during treatment.Ten days ago, Jyothi’s family had organised a celebration because she was expecting a baby. Sunil dropped her off at her parents’ residence for that occasion. On Friday, he took her back to Bichkunda, where they lived.The accident took place while they were returning home. The couple had been married for a year.The police are investigating whether speeding was the cause of the accident. A suspicious case has been logged and an investigation is underway.
