Man detonates bombs after domestic row, held | Bhubaneswar News

Berhampur: A 34-year-old man was arrested on Wednesday for allegedly detonating bombs at his rented residence in Kushapada in Ganjam district, following a domestic dispute.
The accused, identified as Surendra Dora from Goudapalli in Balangir district, had been working as a labourer at a nearby stone quarry and living in Kushapada with his family for several years.
Inspector in-charge of Digapahandi police station, P K Patra, said Dora allegedly set off the explosives after an argument with his wife, who was not present during the incident. While no injuries were reported, the blast damaged the roofs of three neighbouring houses.
“The explosion caused significant property damage, but fortunately, no casualties were reported,” said the IIC.
Further investigation is underway to determine the source of the explosives and potential additional charges.
