Man caught taking obscene photos near Town Hall in Bengaluru, fined

Bengaluru: A 29-year-old man was allegedly caught taking inappropriate photographs of a young woman near Town Hall on Saturday afternoon.
Rajaneesh, a resident of Vijayanagar and originally from Mandya, was apprehended by the public before being handed over to police.

According to police, Rajaneesh was found photographing the woman standing near the subway in front of BBMP Hospital opposite Town Hall. When the woman and bystanders noticed his behaviour, they confronted him. Police described the nature of the photographs as “obscene”.
Hoysala police officers responded to the incident and took Rajaneesh into custody. As neither the woman nor any witnesses filed a formal complaint, authorities registered a case under the Karnataka Police Act. Rajaneesh was released after paying a fine.
During questioning, officers examined his mobile phone and discovered hundreds of photographs of women, many downloaded from the internet, including social media accounts. The images predominantly featured women in revealing attires. Police ensured all photographs were deleted before his release and cautioned him against such actions in the future.
Rajaneesh is reportedly pursuing chartered accountancy and other competitive examinations in the city.
