Man Arrested for Molesting Woman at Thiruvottiyur Railway Station: Shocking Incident Occurs During Evening Commute | Chennai News – The Times of India

Chennai: A 34-year-old man was arrested by the Korukkupet Railway Police for allegedly molesting a woman at Thiruvottiyur Railway Station on March 28, 2025. The victim, a private company employee, was commuting on a local EMU train from Beach to Thiruvottiyur when the incident occurred.
According to the police, the woman was exiting the train around 7.49 pm and walking toward the bridge when a man approached her and molested her before fleeing the scene. The victim filed a complaint the following day at the Korukkupet Railway Police Station.
Following the complaint, a case was registered under Section 126(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). Two special teams, led by Deputy Superintendent of Police Karnan and Inspector of Police Sasikala, were formed to trace the accused.
The teams analysed CCTV footage around Thiruvottiyur Railway Station, which led to the identification of the suspect as M Dillibabu, 34, a resident of Old Washermenpet. He was arrested on Friday from platform number 5 of Basin Bridge Railway Station. He was taken to the Korukkupet Railway Police Station for investigation and is set to be remanded to judicial custody.
