Man arrested for killing friend

Rourkela: A 24-year-old man arrested by Raghunathpalli police here on Sunday afternoon allegedly for killing his friend the day before.
The body was found near a railway track near STI square on Sunday morning under Raghunathpalli police station limits.
The arrested man was identified as Bikash Gochhyat alias Muna (24), a native of Angul district who currently resides in Gajapatipali STI under Raghunathpalli police station limits. Bikash was working in a local band.
According to police, Bikash and the deceased, identified as Amrit Mahakud (42), attended a feast together on Saturday night under Raghunathpalli police station limits and got drunk there. While returning home, Mahakud allegedly abused Bikas and the latter slit his throat in rage.
“We are investigating the case further,” said R Swain, inspector in-charge of Raghunathpalli police station.
