Berhampur: A 32-year-old man was arrested on Sunday for allegedly stabbing to death a 42-year-old contractor at Chanakya Nagar under Baidyanath pur police limits on Saturday.
The accused was identified as Chandan Kumar Sabat Pappun and the deceased was T.Ram Chandra Patra of the same area. After playing holi they had a heated exchange of words due to their previous enmity. The accused suddenly stabbed him with a knife.
Patra was rushed to MKCG Medical College and Hospital here. He died during treatment, police said. SP (Berhampur) Saravana Vivek M said a murder case was registered against the accused in Baidyanathpur police station and knife which he used to kill the deceased was seized.
