Chennai: A 23-year-old man was arrested near Puzhal on Sunday for the rape of an elderly woman in Red Hills. The incident occurred on April 8 while the victim was alone at her home. Her son, with whom she lived, was away at work.
According to the complaint, the man barged into the woman’s residence and raped her at knifepoint. When she cried for help, her neighbors intervened. Police identified the accused as Thamzhilanban Chandru from Sholavaram using CCTV footage. He was later arrested and sent to jail.
