Man accused of bid to kill wife acquitted | Mumbai News – The Times of India

Thane: The principal district and sessions court in Thane acquitted a 46-year-old man accused of attempting to murder his wife, citing various contradictions and inconsistencies in prosecution’s case. Sessions judge B Agrawal ruled that the prosecution failed to prove beyond reasonable doubt the guilt of Abdul Shattar Nesar Gazi, a painter. According to the prosecution, Gazi allegedly attacked his wife with a knife in their Lokmanya Nagar house on April 11, 2023. It relied on the FIR and testimonies from witnesses, including the daughters and police, but defence counsel Sagar Kolhe pointed out inconsistencies in the probe and charges. tnn
