Bhubaneswar: Mamata Mohanta filed her nomination as BJP nominee for Rajya Sabha byelection on Wednesday for the seat she vacated as BJD member. BJP leader Jagannath Pradhan also filed nomination for the post as an independent. BJP sources attributed Jagannath’s filing nomination as a precautionary move in case anything is found wanting in the papers of Mamata during scrutiny.He is a backup plan, a BJP leader said. Jagannath would withdraw after scrutiny of papers on Thursday. tnn
