Malkangiri CHC Doc: Missing Malkangiri CHC doc traced to Mysuru | Bhubaneswar News

Koraput: A physician who went missing from his official quarters at Kalimela community health centre (CHC) in Malkangiri district on June 1, was traced to Mysuru in Karnataka on Wednesday.
Amlan Bhoi, a native of Kandhamal, had been posted at the Kalimela CHC since Jan. “The missing doctor was traced to Mysuru and our team is bringing him back. He is safe and in good health,” said SP (Malkangiri) Nitesh Wadhwani.
The SP dismissed claims he was abducted.“Initial findings don’t show any kidnap angle. However, more details will be known once our team reaches Malkangiri,” he said.
On Monday, police had suggested that Bhoi’s involvement in betting during the recently concluded IPL might have been a reason for his disappearance. His parents had approached the Malkangiri administration on Monday, seeking assistance in locating their son.
A handwritten Maoist poster was discovered in the verandah of the CHC, raising suspicions of possible rebel involvement in the doctor’s disappearance. However, the police have refuted this theory.
