Berhampur: The sleuths of the intelligence and enforcement bureau wing of the excise department, Berhampur, on Wednesday arrested five inter-district ganja peddlers, including a father and son duo from Badakushasthali near here.
“Two vehicles, including a car and a motorbike, along with 34 kg of ganja, were seized from the accused persons. The worth of the seized items was around Rs 10.80 lakh,” said an excise officer. The ganja was being transported illegally from Baliguda in Kandhamal district to Bolgarh when it was seized.
The arrested individuals include Prakash Pradhan (57), the car owner, and his son Goutam (26) from Khajuria, Sarathi Kar (32) of Sudrukumpa, Panchanan Behera (27) of Benapalli, and Purna Chandra Bharasagar (30) of Madhupur. TNN
