Major Assault on Police Officers in Kendrapada Leads to Three Arrests | Bhubaneswar News


Kendrapada: Three individuals were arrested on Wednesday night for allegedly attacking police personnel who were attempting to stop a high-decibel melody program in Kanapur village, Kendrapada district.
The arrested individuals were identified as Kailash Chandra Das, Madhusudan Parida and Pankaj Kumar, all residents of Kanapur village. The incident occurred on Tuesday night when police officers from Marshaghai police station intervened to stop the use of loudspeakers during a local event.
“Four police personnel were injured in the attack, with assistant sub-inspector Ramachandra Das sustaining serious head injuries,” said Purnachandra Pattayat, IIC of Marsaghai police station.
The accused were charged under multiple sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). Other sections include criminal intimidation and obstruction of lawful apprehension.
A court in Kendrapada rejected the bail applications of the three accused on Thursday and remanded them to judicial custody. “Several other accused have fled the village and raids are ongoing at various locations to apprehend them,” Pattayat added. Police investigations is on.
