ULHASNAGAR: Five robbers planning a robbery at a jewellery shop in Ulhasnagar were nabbed by police.
The arrested accused were identified as Yuvraj Pawar, Rahul Gaikwad, Vasudev Fakira, Kalpesh Baviskar, and Ajay Pillai alias Koyta, police said.
Police said that on Monday night, they received specific information that some accused were planning to rob Mahalaxmi jewellery shop situated in the Nevali Naka area.The police laid a trap and nabbed the five accused.
The police said that of the five accused, two are habitual criminals. They have recovered arms and equipment like a pistol, live cartridges, a knife, chilli powder, and rope used to commit the robbery.
