Mumbai: A govt resolution on Wednesday said expenditure on salary and wages had been cut by 5%, on contract works by 10%, and on telephone, power and water bills, office requirements, arms and ammunition, petrol and diesel, and equipment repairs by 20%. The revised budget estimates made no cut in the MLA local area development fund, DPDC funds and state-aided schemes.
The finance department directed that specific proposals on prizes for different events, expenditure on foreign travel, publications, computers, publicity and advertisements, small construction works, and expenditure on procurement of new vehicles should be submitted before Feb 18.
