Maharashtra govt declares holiday on December 6 to mark Ambedkar death anniversary

NEW DELHI: Maharashtra government on Wednesday declared 6th December as a local holiday on the occasion of Mahaparinirwana Diwas of Dr BR Ambedkar.

Mahaparinirvan Diwas marks the death anniversary of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, who passed away on December 6, 1956, in Delhi.
The day serves as an occasion to honour Ambedkar’s enduring legacy and his significant contributions to Indian society.
