Maharashtra Day Parade 2025: Traffic detours, road closures in Dadar on May 1; check details here | Mumbai News – The Times of India
NEW DELHI: In light of the Maharashtra Day Parade being organized on 1st May 2025 at Shivaji Park, Dadar, the Mumbai Traffic Police have issued a traffic advisory to ensure smooth functioning of the event.
The parade will be held from 6am to 12pm, and traffic regulation and control measures will be in place on roads surrounding Shivaji Park. The following instructions are issued to prevent any obstruction or inconvenience to the public.
Road closures and one-way routes:
Keluskar Road South and Keluskar Road North: These roads will be closed to all vehicular traffic, except for invitees.S.K. Bole Road : This road will be one-way from Siddhivinayak Junction to Portuguese Church Junction.- Swatantraveer Savarkar Road: Vehicular traffic from Siddhivinayak Junction to Yes Bank Junction will be restricted.
Traffic rerouting from Siddhivinayak junction: Vehicles proceeding from Siddhivinayak Junction toward the western suburb must take a right turn at Siddhivinayak Junction, proceed via S.K. Bole Road, left turn at Portuguese Church, and continue through Gokhale Road, Gadkari Junction, L.J. Road, and Raja Bade Chowk towards the western suburbs.- Traffic rerouting for South Mumbai: Vehicles traveling from Yes Bank Junction to Siddhivinayak Junction, wishing to proceed towards South Mumbai, must take a left turn at Yes Bank Junction and proceed via Pandurang Naik Road, right turn at Raja Bade Chowk, L.J. Road, Gadkari Junction, and Gokhale Road.
Certain roads will be designated as no-parking zones during the event, including Keluskar Road South and North, Pandurang Naik Road, and N.C. Kelkar Road from Gadkari Chowk to Kotwal Garden.
Additionally, parking for Police, BMC, and PWD vehicles will be allowed at specific locations, including Swatantrya Veer Savarkar Smarak Hall, Vanita Samaj Hall, Mahatma Gandhi Swimming Pool, and the Kohinoor PPL parking lot on N.C. Kelkar Road, Dadar (W), Mumbai.
Parade route:
The parade will commence from Shivaji Park ground through Gate No. 5, proceed along a left turn on Keluskar Road (North), C. Ramchandra Chowk, left turn onto S. Sawarkar Road (Southbound), and will terminate at Naarli Baug after a right turn.
Instructions for local citizens and other vehicle owners:
For citizens without car passes, vehicles must be parked at the Kohinoor Parking Lot of BMC located at J.K. Sawant Road near Plaza Cinema, Dadar (W), Mumbai.
Motorists are advised to avoid the specified routes between 6am and 12pm to minimize disruptions. Signage boards and police personnel will be stationed at key locations to guide motorists and pedestrians, ensuring the least inconvenience to the public.
