Mahanagar Gas Limited and BEST launch ‘MGL Tez’ at 13 bus depots in Mumbai | Mumbai News – The Times of India

MUMBAI : In a relief to Mumbaikars, Mahanagar Gas Limited (MGL) on Wednesday announced it will collaborate with BEST to launch ‘MGL Tez’ facility at 13 bus depots across Mumbai.
This follows the success of similar facilities at Ghatkopar and Goregaon bus depots, which were launched in 2023.
“Following the successful pilot project at two depots, MGL Tez facility will be extended at 13 more depots located at Anik, Deonar, Dharavi, Dindoshi, Gorai, Magathane, Majas, Mulund, Mumbai Central, Poisar, Pratiksha Nagar, Santacruz, and Wadala, for utilising the CNG infrastructure at these depots which are spread across Mumbai for the benefit of Mumbaikars,” said MGL deputy managing director Sanjay Shende.
MGL Tez can be accessed through an app which is downloaded by users of commercial CNG vehicles like trucks and tempos. “They can book their convenient time slots for refuelling vehicles at any of the above-mentioned BEST bus depots. This will considerably reduce their wait-time in the refuelling queues,”a MGL official said.
BEST assistant general manager A.S. Rao said “Through MGL Tez and our collaboration with Mahanagar Gas Limited, we have taken a major step forward in enhancing Mumbai’s public utility services. It will not only ease congestion and save time for commercial vehicle owners but also improve overall traffic movement around refuelling stations. Let this initiative be an example for others to follow.”
Shende said : “We hope to bring ease to commercial vehicle owners, who are constantly on the move. We are committed to delivering innovative, technology-driven solutions that benefit citizens. This commitment showcases our continued efforts toward clean, accessible, and customer-centric energy services for Mumbaikars”.
Users can book time slots on MGL Tez app between 8 am and 8 pm on any day of the week, to refuel CNG in their vehicles and can also make the payment digitally.
