Ludhiana man held with drugs worth 5.5 cr – The Times of India

Mumbai: A 30-year-old native of Ludhiana in Punjab was arrested at Mumbai airport for smuggling 5.5kg of hydroponic weed worth Rs 5.50 crore from Bangkok on Sunday.
The officials of the Air Intelligence Unit of Customs, through digital profiling, intercepted Gurwinder Singh. . A physical examination of his baggage resulted in the recovery of six transparent vacuum-sealed packets containing a greenish substance.
On checking the substance with the field testing kit, it was confirmed to be weed. He admitted that it was contraband covered under the ambit of NDPS. He said he smuggled it on behalf of someone for monetary consideration. The officials are probing the involvement of a syndicate.tnn
