Leaders demand public apology from Gandhis for remark against President | Bhubaneswar News

Bhubaneswar: Odisha chief minister Mohan Charan Majhi and Union education minister and Sambalpur MP Dharmendra Pradhan, among other leaders, condemned the remarks made by Congress leaders Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi on the President’s speech in Parliament on Friday.
Taking to X, CM Majhi posted: “The disrespectful and condescending remarks made by Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi against Hon’ble President of India, Smt. Droupadi Murmu Ji, are deeply reprehensible and expose the Congress party’s elitist and dismissive attitude.”
He stated that Sonia Gandhi’s comment, “Poor lady President Murmu got tired at the end,” and Rahul Gandhi’s “boring” remark were not just insults to India’s first tribal woman President but also a slight against the Santhal community, the people of Odisha, and the democratic ethos of the nation.
Issuing an official statement, Pradhan said that these comments reflect Congress’s feudal mindset, arrogance, and disappointment towards the President, who hails from a scheduled tribe community.
“Congress’s ideology has always been against SC-ST-OBC communities. Once again, Congress demonstrated this narrow mindset. Congress leaders can never tolerate individuals from Dalit, marginalised, and backward communities holding the highest positions of responsibility in the country,” he said.
The leadership demanded a public apology from the Congress brass for the comments made against the President.
