Patna: Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) chief Lalu Prasad on Tuesday inspected the arrangements made for the devotees at the Ular Sun Temple, Paliganj, as the four-day Chhath began.
Accompanied by his daughter, Misa Bharti, a party MP, Prasad visited the temple, closely examining the arrangements and offering prayers there. During his stay, he gave certain suggestions to the officials, while Misa toured the entire temple complex and took stock of the preparations closely.
While Prasad didn’t talk to the reporters, Misa appeared more diplomatic, refusing to comment on the arrangements. “The arrangements are very good, but we have asked the authorities concerned to improve them further,” Misa said, adding that she prayed to God for the festival to conclude peacefully and happily.
She said the Ular Sun Temple is quite old and famous, drawing a large crowd of devotees, making it very important to examine the arrangements. “We have prayed to God that everyone returns to their homes happily after celebrating Chhath with their families,” she told reporters.
Misa, who was elected from the Patliputra Lok Sabha seat in Patna for the first time after her earlier two failed bids, has been quite active in her constituency. Prasad also worked hard to ensure his daughter emerged victorious in her third attempt.
