Hyderabad: BRS working president KT Rama Rao has dared chief minister A Revanth Reddy to come for a debate on state’s finances in the legislative assembly.
The BRS leader accused the CM of pushing the state into a financial crisis through mismanagement and false propaganda. “If you have the courage, let’s debate the facts. We will expose how Congress’ reckless policies are ruining Telangana. The people deserve the truth,” KTR said at a press conference at Telangana Bhavan on Saturday.
KTR said Congress govt was spreading falsehoods about Telangana’s progress. “We will not stay silent if anyone insults or undermines our state. Telangana’s achievements under KCR’s leadership cannot be erased by lies and propaganda.”
The State Statistical Atlas Report, an official govt document, has exposed the truth, the BRS leader. He claimed that the report contradicted Revanth Reddy’s statements on rising debt. “The Congress govt itself released a report showing how Telangana’s financial position strengthened under KCR’s leadership. Yet, Revanth continues to spread falsehoods,” he said.
According to the report, Telangana’s Gross State Domestic Product (GSDP) rose from Rs 5 lakh crore in 2014 to Rs 15 lakh crore by 2023 — an increase of 300%. KTR emphasized that this growth placed Telangana ahead of industrially advanced states such as Gujarat.
KTR credited the Kaleshwaram and Mission Kakatiya projects for revolutionising irrigation in Telangana. He criticised the Congress govt for allegedly neglecting irrigation projects and mismanaging water resources. “By emptying the Medigadda barrage, the Congress govt has created an artificial water crisis, harming farmers,” the BRS leader said.
