KT Rama Rao vows to reclaim 400 acres land belonging to University of Hyderabad, announces to build central park-style eco-park if elected | Hyderabad News

HYDERABAD: BRS working president KT Rama Rao has announced that the party will reclaim 400 acres of land belonging to the University of Hyderabad (UOH) in Kancha Gachibowli and develop it into a vast eco-park if the BRS government returns to power. He stated that the move would be a gift to UOH students and the people of Hyderabad.
KTR warned potential buyers of the land that they would face severe losses once BRS regains control. “We will take back every inch of that land and build an extraordinary eco-park, akin to Central Park in Manhattan, for the future of Hyderabad,” he said at a press conference at Telangana Bhavan on Thursday.
He praised the students for their “extraordinary struggle” against the state government’s alleged attempts to encroach on university land. “Their fight is akin to the historic student movements at Osmania, Kakatiya, and Satavahana universities during the Telangana statehood agitation. On behalf of the BRS and the people of Hyderabad, I offer a heartfelt salute to the students’ fighting spirit,” he said.
KTR criticised the Congress government for refusing to engage in dialogue with the students, who have been protesting for the past 10 days. He warned that if the government did not change its stance, BRS would mobilise thousands for a march to HCU. “If they don’t step back and change this decision, we will march to UOH with the people of Hyderabad in full force,” he asserted.
Taking a dig at chief minister Revanth Reddy, KTR said that while the CM claims to work 18 hours a day, he should spend at least 10 minutes thinking about future generations “like a human being—like a father or grandfather—instead of acting like a broker.”
He accused the government of lacking democratic spirit and alleged that Reddy and his ministers treat the public as “slaves under their feet” and suffer from a “strange mental disorder” of arrogance.
KTR also slammed deputy CM Bhatti Vikramarka for dismissing concerns about wildlife on the UOH campus and mocked his claim that images of animals were “artificial intelligence-generated.”
“There are no animals there? Bhatti has exposed his own artificial intelligence,” KTR said. He further accused the government of carrying out activities on the university campus, including felling trees and harming wildlife, on court holidays.
“Why are they sending bulldozers over the people on Saturdays and Sundays? Has the government no sense, no shame, despite the high court and Supreme Court’s directives?” he questioned.
KTR challenged Congress leader Rahul Gandhi to visit HCU again and explain his party’s actions to the students. “Rahul spoke of a ‘shop of love,’ but Telangana has become a ‘house of hatred’ under his party’s rule,” he added.
