Both riders and those on pillion wore helmets throughout the rally.Transport secretary Usha Padhee had issued written instructions to all departments, emphasising mandatory helmet use for all participants.No ‘boycott’Some social media users had recently started campaigns to ‘boycott Turkiye’ and Turkish exports like apples and dry fruits. A visit to the local fruit market to see how it was playing out turned out to be a disappointment. When asked if the apples are from Turkey, a vendor gave a blank look. One of them said, “We just get them from the godown. No one asks where the apple is from — only how sweet it is!” Noble initiativeBhubaneswar MP Aparajita Sarangi earned applause for opening a district library in Khurda recently, which comes with an integrated coaching centre. However, she gave credit to district collector Chanchal Rana for the new facility. In a post on X, Sarangi wrote, “Inaugurated a district library-cum-coaching centre worth Rs 1.05 crore for students at Khurda. All credit to collector Chanchal Rana, who conceptualised and executed the plan.Students will vastly benefit. It is, indeed, a model for other districts to follow.
