Kerala: Couple narrowly escapes landslides in Kerala | Bhubaneswar News

Bhubaneswar: Sujit and Suchismita, a couple from Odisha, who are in Kerala on a holiday said they are grateful that they are safe. Though staying in a tree house in Wayanad had been a dream for the couple, they skipped it due to paucity of time and visited Munnar, Athirapally and Vazhachal falls.
They were warned of the possibility of landslides in Munnar and cautioned against staying in houseboats during the night. They felt a huge sense of relief at what was a God-sent escape in Gods Own Country. “Kerala is beautiful in monsoon, but there is danger,” they told TOI.
“We left Munnar the day before the landslide in Wayanad and there were minor landslides in Munnar as well though it was nothing compared to Wayanad,” said 47-year-old Sujit Mahapatra, founder of Bakul Foundation, a voluntary organization. The couple will return to Bhubaneswar on Friday.
