KCR to face Ghose panel grilling on June 5, Harish on June 6 | Hyderabad News

Hyderabad: Justice PC Ghose Commission Tuesday issued summons to former chief minister K Chandrashekar Rao, former minister Harish Rao, and BJP MP Eatala Rajender, who also served as a minister during the BRS regime, in the ongoing investigation into alleged irregularities in the Kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation Project (KLIP).The one-man commission, which has been probing financial and procedural lapses in the multi-crore irrigation project, directed the three political leaders to appear for questioning in the first week of June. KCR was asked to appear before the panel on June 5, followed by Harish Rao on June 6, and Rajender on June 9. The summons were issued in connection with the probe into the sinking of piers of block 7 of Medigadda barrage, as well as irregularities in Annaram and Sundilla barrages under the Kaleshwaram project. While KCR has not reacted to the summons, his daughter and BRS MLC K Kavitha condemned the move. She dismissed the inquiry as a politically motivated exercise, calling it a ‘Congress commission’ rather than a genuine investigation into Kaleshwaram project. She said the truth would prevail even if the current govt attempts to vilify KCR in the garb of inquiry. So far, the Ghose Commission had restricted its inquiry to bureaucrats and technical officials, including former and serving irrigation secretaries, chief secretaries, and engineers involved in the planning and execution of Kaleshwaram project. In the final stages of its probe, the commission is summoning political leaders, including KCR and his former cabinet colleagues, for questioning.
