Kasinipadar Villagers Protest for Mobile Connectivity | Bhubaneswar News

Berhampur: The residents of Kasinipadar in the tribal-dominated Kandhamal district‘s Phiringia block staged a road blockade on Thursday in protest against the lack of mobile phone connectivity in their village. Road communication between Phiringia and Gochhapada was disrupted for several hours as the villagers protested by burning tyres and staging a dharna on the road.
Anup Behera, block development officer of Phiringia, said the mobile companies conducted surveys for the establishment of mobile phone towers in the area. The tahsildar will provide them with land for the establishment of the mobile towers after they identify the location, he said.
Gopinath Pradhan, inspector in-charge of Phiringia police station, said no untoward incident was reported, and they are keeping vigil on the situation.
