Berhampur: A police officer in Kandhamal district, who is going to retire in two months, was suspended on Thursday following allegation of an extramarital affair with a young woman.
“Kuber Digal, officer-in-charge of Subarnagiri police outpost, was suspended following the allegation of allowing the woman into his official quarters at the barrack in Kotagarh,” said Kandhamal SP Harish BC on Friday. “Legal action will be initiated against him after an inquiry,” he said.
Digal’s wife, Tanuja, alleged her husband was having an affair with a 19-year-old woman for the past few months. His wife said she saw the young woman in his quarters on Monday when she unexpectedly arrived there. She said she would meet the SP, urging him to take action against both her husband and the woman.
While Digal was staying at Kotagarh, his family members were staying in Phulbani. Digal is going to retire in Feb next year.
