Jr engr found hanging in rented home | Bhubaneswar News

Rourkela: The body of a 26-year-old junior engineer of a private software solutions company here, who is suspected to have died by suicide on Sunday, was recovered from a rented house on Monday. The deceased was identified as Rudra Pratap Panda, a native of Jagatsinghpur district.
Police said Panda was staying in a rented quarters at Dandiapalli. On Sunday, he called a student from a nearby college, who lived close by, and asked him to bring biryani. When the student brought the biryani and knocked on Panda’s door in the afternoon, he got no response. The student returned around 4 pm and knocked again, but still received no response.
He then called Rudra’s landlord and some other locals. When they also called Rudra and received no response, they broke open the door and found him hanging. Brahmani Tarang police were informed around 5 pm on Sunday. Police officers arrived after getting information and the room was locked, and his family members were informed about his death.
Preliminary inquiry suggests that Panda was in a relationship with a girl, and it is suspected some love dispute might have been behind his suicide.
On Monday, Panda’s family members arrived. After the post-mortem, his body was handed over to them.
“After registering a case, we are investigating to ascertain the reason behind his suicide,” said U K Sahu, sub-inspector, Brahmani Tarang police station.
