Announcement of Agniveer job quota outside House draws flak

Bhubaneswar: Opposition BJD and Congress on Monday protested against chief minister Mohan Majhi’s Friday announcement before media about job quota for Agniveers when the Vidhan Sabha is in session, terming it a breach of privilege. They said the CM should have informed the assembly first.
During zero hour when parliamentary affairs minister Mukesh Mahaling stood up to make a statement on job reservation for Agniveers, BJD and Congress members protested.Congress MLA Tara Prasad Bahinipati moved a breach of privilege notice against the CM, for speaking outside the assembly when it’s in session.
“The govt doesn’t trust the house,” he said. BJD MLAs Pramila Mallik and Ganeshwar Behera said the CM’s statement outside the house is condemnable and the opposition members sought an apology from the CM. The speaker adjourned the proceedings till 4 pm.
Countering Bahinipati, BJP MLA Irasis Acharya brought a privilege notice against him. tnn
