JD(U) reacts to Tejashwi’s remarks, says doors shut on RJD | Patna News – Times of India

Patna: JD(U) on Tuesday reacted strongly to the Leader of Opposition Tejashwi Prasad Yadav‘s remarks that the RJD‘s doors are now shut for CM Nitish Kumar‘s party.
Talking to reporters, JD(U) MP from Sitamarhi, Devesh Chandra Thakur, said they don’t pay heed to such statements. “The fact is that the JD(U) has shut its door on the RJD,” Thakur said after coming out of the CM House.
The development came a day after Tejashwi ruled out the possibility of any “tie-up” with the JD(U) ahead of the upcoming assembly elections in the state due in 2025.”There is no question of RJD entering into an alliance with JD(U)…We have shut the doors on it,” Tejashwi said, while interacting with reporters in Sitamarhi on Monday.
“Unke liye Darwaja band hai…matlab band hai,” Tejashwi said, obliquely referring to Nitish, stating that “joining his company means taking a suicidal step.” Describing party MLA Bhai Birendra’s observations that they would welcome Nitish if he returns to their company as his “personal remark,” Tejashwi said only the statements coming from party chief Lalu Prasad and him should be taken as “official.”
Tejashwi’s declaration came amid reports of alleged differences between JD(U) and BJP after Union minister Amit Shah, while attending a function in New Delhi, avoided directly addressing Nitish’s role post-2025 assembly polls. The controversy generated further heat when BJP’s deputy CM Vijay Kumar Sinha, while addressing a function in Patna, said the party’s “mission” remains incomplete until it forms its own govt in the state.
