Jagadev: BJP MLA Prasanta Kumar Jagadev Shifted to Hospital from Jail After Chest Pain | Bhubaneswar News
Bhubaneswar: After his health deteriorated, BJP’s Khurda MLA nominee Prasanta Kumar Jagadev, who was arrested in connection with allegedly vandalising an EVM in a booth, was on Wednesday shifted from jail to SCB Medical College and Hospital, Cuttack.
Doctors at SCB said Jagadev has multiple health problems but is stable now. He complained of chest pain (angina) in the jail following which he was admitted.“He has diabetes and spinal problem in the lumbar region. Tests are being done and he is under observation,” said Jayant Panda, professor of medicine, SCB.
Jagadev (55) was arrested on May 25 when he had gone to cast his vote. He had been expelled from BJD in 2022 after he allegedly ramming his vehicle into a crowd. But the BJP criticised his arrest and claimed he is innocent. BJD countered it saying the saffron party is sheltering tainted people.
