ITDA official arrested for amassing Rs 4.38cr in DA | Bhubaneswar News

Rourkela: Vigilance sleuths on Friday arrested Biswadarsi Sahoo, project administrator of Integrated Tribal Development Agency (ITDA), Bonai, for allegedly amassing disproportionate assets worth Rs 4.38 crore, which is 318% more than his known sources of income.
Following a two-day search operation at seven locations across the state, vigilance officers unearthed substantial movable and immovable assets in the name of Sahoo and his family members. The searches were conducted at his properties in Bhubaneswar, Balasore, Jajpur and Sundargarh districts.
The recovered assets include a double-storey residential building at Sriram Nagar, Bhubaneswar, measuring 3,600 sq ft, a 1,500 sq ft flat in Laxmisagar, and an advance payment of Rs 1.50 crore for an under-construction flat in Kharavela Nagar. Additionally, nine high-value plots in Bhubaneswar and Puri were discovered.
The officials also seized cash worth Rs 4.51 lakh, bank and insurance deposits of Rs 73.14 lakh, gold jewellery weighing around 150 grams, and 10 luxury wrist watches valued at Rs 7.5 lakh. Other recoveries include a car, three two-wheelers, and household articles worth over Rs 40 lakh.
The investigation is currently ongoing.
