Bhubaneswar: Sudhansu Mishra, medical superintendent of SCB Medical College and Hospital, Cuttack, said a solution has been reached and house surgeons will call off the strike and return to work from Thursday.
The meeting was conducted on Wednesday evening under the chairmanship of Bijay Kumar Dash, commissioner of Cuttack Municipal Corporation (CMC).Top officials of the medical college, professors, members from the associations of nurses, house surgeons, junior doctors and resident doctors attended the meeting.
Jayanta Kumar Panda, professor of general medicine, SCB Medical College and Hospital, who was present at the meeting, said the conflict between house surgeons and nursing officers has been resolved. “Normal patient care will continue. All will cooperate to deliver patient care smoothly,” Panda said.
Despite efforts, members of the nursing and house surgeons’ associations could not be contacted for their response.TNN
