NEW DELHI: Cricket fans heading to M Chinnaswamy Stadium on Thursday for the IPL clash between Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Rajasthan Royals may face heavy traffic and delays across central Bengaluru.
Though police are yet to issue a advisory, a surge in vehicle movement and footfall is expected around the stadium and the Central Business District (CBD). Commuters have been urged to avoid the area or opt for public transport to minimise inconvenience.
Key roads likely to be affected include Queen’s Road, MG Road, Raj Bhavan Road, Central Street, Cubbon Road, St Marks Road, Museum Road, Kasturba Road, Ambedkar Veedhi, Trinity Junction, Lavelle Road, Vittal Mallya Road, and Nrupatunga Road.
Residents and commuters are advised to plan their travel early or use alternate routes to avoid congestion.
Metro services, BMTC buses, and local trains are expected to see high ridership, especially from Cubbon Park Metro Station after the match.
Commuters have been urged to plan their travel accordingly. Parking restrictions are also expected in and around the stadium premises. Fans have been advised to use public transport and avoid bringing personal vehicles to the venue.
