Patna: Police arrested 12 members of an interstate gang of cyber criminals in Police arrested 12 members of an interstate gang of cyber criminals in Patna on Saturday.
Eight of them are from Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and three from Gujarat. ATM cards linked to more than 100 bank accounts and 26 cellphones were recovered from them. They used to make people their victims by offering them loans at cheap interest rates.
According to the police, they had set up a call center in the Ramakrishna Nagar police station area, where they used to call youths from outside the state in the name of giving them jobs and used to engage them in the fraud works. The kingpin, Golden Kumar, a resident of Nawada, is absconding.
