Inter results: Telangana sees rise in pass percentage

Hyderabad: The overall pass percentage for the second-year intermediate results stood at 71.37% this year compared to 69.46% in 2024, there by registering an improvement of 1.91%. This year’s success rate is the highest achieved in the past four years.
Announcing the results on Tuesday, officials said that 2.85 lakh of the 3.99 lakh regular candidates cleared the second-year intermediate public examination. In first-year, 2.93 lakh candidates of the 4.39 lakh cleared the test. The overall pass percentage, including general and vocational, for second-year students stands at 69.4%.
Among the second-year regular students, 1.93 lakh secured ‘A’ grade marks (above 75%); 65,289 secured ‘B’ grade; 21,442 achieved ‘C’ grade, and 5,419 candidates received ‘D’ grade marks. In first-year, 1.89 lakh candidates secured ‘A’ grade marks.
In second-year, 77.73% of girls passed compared to 64.60% of boys. A similar trend was seen in the first-year results, where girls recorded a pass percentage of 66.89%, while boys managed 59.74%. Across the state, Mulugu emerged as the top performer this year by recording an overall pass percentage of 80.12%, followed by Kumram Bheem Asifabad at 79.52% and Medchal at 78.08%.
Meanwhile, Hyderabad continued its poor run as the overall pass percentage of second-year students from the district stood at 67%. On the other hand, Kamareddy district recorded the lowest pass percentage of 54.93%. For first-year results, Medchal topped the charts with 77.59%, followed by Rangareddy and Khammam with 76.95% and 71.15%, respectively.
