Bhubaneswar: State govt on Saturday extended the duration of Gopabandhu Sambadika Swasthya Bima Yojana, the health insurance scheme for working journalists, for another year. Chief minister Mohan Majhi approved the proposal to extend the scheme from Sep 1 this year to Aug 31, 2025.
A total of 7,041 working journalists will benefit from the renewal of the scheme, official sources said.An annual premium of Rs 8.55 crore has been paid to the insurance company concerned. Journalists can register for the scheme through a dedicated portal, which will be opened in Sep first week.TNN
