Infiltration: Odisha Coastal Security Alert for Bangladesh Infiltration | Bhubaneswar News
Bhubaneswar: Odisha remained on high vigilance to prevent any potential infiltration from Bangladesh. Security measures have been intensified, particularly in three coastal districts of Kendrapada, Bhadrak, and Balasore. Nine marine police stations in these three districts have been placed on alert and supplementary forces have been deployed to handle the situation effectively.Police sources said assistance from local fishing communities has also been sought. “Our marine police force is guarding the sea upto five nautical miles. The coast guard guards the area beyond it,” said DGP Arun Sarangi.
Santosh Nayak, a former police officer, said entering Odisha from Bangladesh through the sea route is very easy. “A person can enter any of the three districts from Bangladesh by travelling 4-5 hours,” he said.
