Infant’s death sparks tension at city clinic | Bhubaneswar News

Bhubaneswar: Tension prevailed at a private clinic near Kalpana Square on Monday after the death of a six-month-old baby girl. Family members alleged she died after a doctor at the clinic administered an injection.
The baby’s parents belong to Bihar but have been staying in Bhubaneswar for business purposes. The baby had a cough and cold, and her parents took her to a medicine store-cum-private clinic at Buddha Nagar for treatment.
“After she was given an injection, the baby stopped moving and died later. We suspect the death occurred due to the wrong injection,” said an agitated local.
Police reached the spot and tried to pacify the locals. At the time of going to press, police were interrogating the proprietor of the medicine store-cum-clinic. “After we complete our investigation we can give details about the case,” said an officer of Laxmisagar police station.
