Indian Navy divers save woman after boat collision in Odisha | Bhubaneswar News
NEW DELHI: A woman was saved by an Indian Navy diving team after a speedboat collision near the Bali Yatra site in Odisha.
The team was surveying the Mahanadi River in preparation for the 2024 Bali Yatra festival when they observed the accident.
The divers immediately rescued the woman, identified as Nandini Das, from the river. Using a buddy carry technique, they carried her over a kilometer to the nearest police help center.
With no ambulance available, the team then transported Ms. Das to SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack via auto-rickshaw to ensure she received prompt medical attention.
The Indian Navy stated, ‘This courageous effort reflects the Indian Navy’s unwavering commitment to service and public welfare.’
