'India poised to be world's talent capital': NSDC CEO Ved Mani

MUMBAI “The world will add 100 crore new workers in the workforce in the next 20 years, and India will have a 25% share of it,” said Ved Mani Tiwari, CEO, NSDC
The Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FICCI) recently concluded its inaugural FICCI Edtech Conclave in Delhi. The conclave brought together key stakeholders from the government, regulatory bodies, academia, and industry to discuss the future of education in the digital era, with a focus on building a more equitable and inclusive education and skilling ecosystem.
During his keynote address, Ved Mani Tiwari, CEO of National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) and Managing Director, NSDC International (NSDCI), emphasized India’s potential to become a global talent hub, stating, “India is poised to be the talent capital of the world, with a burgeoning young population”.
Buddha Chandrashekhar, Chief Coordinating Officer, AICTE, stressed the importance of academia in translating knowledge into practical applications and advocated for a comprehensive skill survey to identify skill gaps and align education accordingly.
Mayank Kumar, Chair, FICCI New Education Providers Sub-Committee, highlighted the government’s initiatives, such as the SIDH platform and Skill Loan Scheme, aimed at accelerating skilling and positioning India’s workforce on the global stage. He also emphasized the emergence of Global Capability Centers in India as a significant opportunity for the Edtech sector to empower the nation’s human capital and drive economic growth.
Nitin Kukreja, Co-Chair of the FICCI New Education Providers Sub-Committee, underscored the importance of quality education and the role of technology in enhancing teaching and learning outcomes. He also highlighted the need for a holistic approach to student development, including mentorship and personalized learning.
The conclave featured a diverse range of experts from various organizations, who engaged in impactful discussions, fostering collaboration, knowledge sharing, and driving innovation in education through technology. The event saw participation from over 200 leaders in the Edtech space, including CEOs, CXOs, CTOs, Vice Chancellors, Deans, and academicians.
