IMD upgrades rain alert, heavy rain ‘very likely’ in Mumbai, Thane | Mumbai News – Times of India

MUMBAI: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an ‘orange’ alert for heavy to very heavy rainfall in Mumbai and Thane on Wednesday.
Meanwhile, a red alert has also been issued for Palghar and Raigad for heavy to very heavy rainfall at few places with extremely heavy rainfall at isolated places.
The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has also predicted heavy to very heavy rains in isolated areas of the city and suburbs from July 24 to July 28.The BMC has advised people to avoid unnecessary travel.
