Bengaluru: Three prominent research institutions of Bengaluru will open their gates to the public this weekend to showcase their work and allow interaction with scientists on the occasion of National Science Day (Feb 28).
Indian Institute of Science (IISc) open day is scheduled on March 1, 9am to 5.30pm. The general public can explore the sprawling campus and experience exciting demos, exhibitions and experiments. Lectures, panel discussions, quizzes, and competitions will be held at departments and centres across the campus.
Indian Institute of Astrophysics will celebrate National Science Day as IIA open day on March 2, 9.30am to 5.30pm, on its Koramangala campus.
For its open day, Raman Research Institute has invited 1,000 students from schools across Bengaluru on Feb 28. To spark scientific fervour, the institute will host a batch of 500 students from 10.30am to 12.30pm, and the other 500 from 2.30pm to 4.30pm. Students can participate in story-writing on science innovations, visit Raman Museum, watch a documentary on CV Raman and interact with scientists.
