IIM Lucknow business sustainability conclave 2024: Key highlights and insights | Mumbai News – Times of India


The Indian Institute of Management Lucknow organised its flagship Business Sustainability Conclave, Sanrakshan 2024.
The two-day event focused on the theme “Building Resilient Businesses through Sustainability” and brought together industry experts, including Ansuman Patnaik, Director General of the Competition Commission of India, thought leaders, and academics to discuss the challenges and opportunities in sustainable business practices.
The conclave was a joint effort by IIM Lucknow‘s PGP-Sustainable Management and the Centre for Business Sustainability. Prof. Dipti Gupta and Prof. Kaushik Ranjan Bandyopadhyay, the respective chairpersons, delivered inaugural addresses emphasising the growing importance of integrating sustainability into core business strategies.
Prof. Ajay Singh, Dean of IIM Lucknow Noida Campus, stressed the vital role of sustainability in driving innovation and creating a competitive advantage in today’s business landscape.
Patnaik delivered the keynote on sustainable development, emphasising the importance of responsible resource management for long-term environmental sustainability.
The conclave provided a platform for exploring the intersection of sustainability and business resilience, featuring discussions and solutions on topics such as green financing, renewable energy, sustainability reporting, resilient supply chains, climate change mitigation, net-zero targets, and inclusivity in sustainable practices.
Shilpy Kochhar, Head of Strategic Partnerships at BIRAC, highlighted the organisation’s efforts in advancing sustainable biotech solutions during her keynote address. She emphasised BIRAC’s commitment to fostering innovation in biotechnology through initiatives like Global Bio India.
Sanrakshan 2024 featured a series of insightful panel discussions with top industry leaders on various topics, including the future of renewable energy in India, standardising sustainability reporting frameworks, innovative financing mechanisms for a sustainable future, building resilient supply chains, and practical applications of circular economy principles.
The conclave concluded with a D.M.R. Panda, General Manager of Renewable Energy at NTPC Limited, who spoke about the importance of innovative policies and renewable energy in driving sustainable development in India.
A key highlight of the conclave was the ‘Startup Mela,’ showcasing cutting-edge solutions in sustainable innovation from entrepreneurs and innovators.
The event also hosted various competitions, cultural performances, and a sustainable fashion show, demonstrating IIM Lucknow’s commitment to promoting sustainability across different sectors.
